My (Recent) Trifecta of Happiness

Call me silly and shallow but this trio’s got me all wound up and giddy the minute I saw (or purchased) them. :)

If you’re morena like me, you know how difficult it is to find that perfect melts-in-my-skintone kind of weekend sandals. I found exactly that in FitFlop Arena in Tan. Just like Due, it’s not the most inexpensive pair they sell here in Manila. At Php 5990, IMO, it’s worth sacrificing the fancy coffee and breakfast I would’ve had the last 2 weeks. LOL Gorgeous, extremely comfortable and versatile. I’m a very happy camper!

*le sigh*

Now and Then: Jewelmer The Noel Pendant

Year after year, Jewelmer reinvents their luxurious holiday staple, the Noel pendant.

You know what they say — the Philippine Christmas season ain’t over until the Three Kings! That’s a just excuse for all of us to checkout (and possibly cart) the 2013 Noel Pendant.

The Noel Pendant – 2012
a similar, complimentary silk cord’s included with every purchase

I swung by the Jewelmer boutique in Glorietta and found myself falling head over heels this year’s Noel Pendant. The South Sea Pearls are so rich and lustrous while each 18K gold pin is so smooth and gorgeous, no photo can give these pendants justice! While gold was expensive the latter part of 2012, these pendants (price varies from pearl to pearl) are very reasonably priced especially if it’s going to be your first Jewelmer piece.

The Noel Pendant is available for a limited time, exclusively at Jewelmer boutiques nationwide. Visit www.jewelmer.com or contact retail@jewelmer.com for inquiries.

Lemming ~fin! I first saw this bracelet from Daphne Oseña Paez’s blog last August (link). The Scholastican in me wanted to get it in an instant but I always miss going to Silverworks when I’m in the mall. I was wandering around SM City Bicutan earlier when I thought of checking it out in person.

Hello Sabrina!

It took me three long, painstaking years to find this beauty so please indulge me. :)

-o-

Finding my perfect pair of nude pumps has been a personal, massive dilemma for years. You see, to be coined as perfect, it has to meet the following criteria (no ifs, no buts):

  • The colour has to be that melts-in-my-skin beige. Apart from versatility, the point of getting nude pumps is to elongate the legs and slim down the calves right? Do note that I’m naturally very yellow skin toned and anything off the rack’s just either too milky-pink or deep brown.
  • Heels must be anywhere between 3-4 inches. Anything more will trip me, anything less will defeat its purpose (see above).
  • The finish cannot be too shiny and not in anyway flat.
  • The tip cannot be pointed, square, nor too round.
  • It has to look clean and safe for the office

I’ve searched high and low and even set a pretty generous budget for these elusive pumps but to no avail until last Thursday when I found myself lost in the newly opened Glorietta 1 wing.

I had a major face palm moment the minute I saw the pumps and entered the new Via Venetto store. Hello. I’m looking for something unmistakably classic. Why didn’t I ever check out Via Venetto prior to last Thursday? *double face palm*

Of course I had to take a snap of the ceremonial unboxing. Ready? :)

Jewelmer Spring/Summer 2013

Jewelmer recently hosted an exclusive VIP preview of its Spring/Summer collection in its newly renovated Glorietta 4 boutique. With the store’s new cobalt blue installations as a forefront, Xander Angeles (in a hat above) did a live photo shoot to showcase some of the key pieces from the three nature inspired collections: the floral Via Rosa and Dolce Rosa plus the lush and organic Tropics.

Here are some of the photos from that afternoon by Xander Angeles. Couture by Randy Ortiz.

VIA ROSA COLLECTION

Smooth, glistening curvature creates open petals that let light and air flow through this noble flower. In a geometric ode to the universally beloved rose, the golden South Sea pearl serves as a glowing pulse that centers a collection of vivacious creations.

DOLCE ROSA COLLECTION

Unconscious beauty is awakened in a stunning reincarnation of the timeless rose. Scintillating petals unfurl in pavé diamonds, blossoming with the pearl at its heart.

Each sparkling flower is an unforgettable treasure, a sumptuous feast of nature and romance.

TROPICS COLLECTION

From the richest rainforests of the world comes a collection inspired by nature in her most glorious generosity. Precious stones, sparkling gold, and the most beautiful of pearls grow together in exuberant harmony.

Exquisite elements make for an organic creation reminiscent of the earth’s bounty and the many shapes, colors, and textures of the natural world. It is a stunning symbol of how nature returns respect with her own gifts of abundance and plenty.

Apart from the pieces above, there’s another piece that’s swept me off my feet. So bad that I think you can tell what happened next. *good girl grin*

Knotted ala-Jewelmer

If we’ve known each other for ages, you can definitely tell that I’m more of a pearls or coloured stones person than diamonds. Sure, diamonds have great appeal to me but my heart skips a wild beat when I see golden or gunmetal pearls and multicoloured chandelier earrings. I’m a skulls, studs, and leather kind of accessorizer too which sometimes, to be honest, confuses me what I want to wear for the day. =$

You’ll probably find this unbelievable but when I feel like injecting a bit of androgyny or just dress down (which usually is the case) my South Sea Pearls (SSP), I turn to Jewelmer. My mom’s loaned me this rubber cord years back which I’ve uhmmm damaged. It used to be 17 inches long but because I didn’t take care of it (gotta wash the rubber after use to remove all residue), it became tough and it shrunk overtime. Why yes, I’m that acidic.

looped twice, it can still be used as a bracelet :)

Gotta love how my birthday’s just plain convenient, I used that as an excuse to make a trip to you guessed it — Jewelmer. *snicker*

With my birthday just 7 days shy, I can’t help but create (yet) another wishlist. The usuals will always be on top of my list (rational thinking for mankind, efficient use of the Filipino taxpayers’ money, less crime rate in the Philippines) but I thought, I can only do so much about those reason why I resorted to the one I can have in a snap (ergo shop for). Without further ado, hoping that my fairy godmothers are reading my blog, here’s this year’s shallow birthday wishlist. :)

The new GlamBox Pro 5000 Series airbrush kit

I recently got to try the new GlamBox Pro 5000 Series airbrush kit over a Thai themed lunch and I’ve been lemming for it since then. Sure, I don’t need this but it would be nice to have in my boudoir for that always picture perfect, flawless and HD ready makeup finish. I love how its compressor’s both powerful and controllable since it would sometimes be nice to bronze my arms and calves as well. The starter kit that’s best for personal use starts at Php 19,500. For makeup enthusiasts, I recommend the deluxe kit (Php 22,800) which includes the airbrush compressor kit + 4 foundation, 2 cheek colors, 1 luminizer and 3 thinner/cleaner bottles. For professional makeup artists, you will find absolute value for your money with the premium kit which includes the airbrush compressor kit+ 5 foundation, 3 cheek colors, 2 luminizers, 3 adjusters and 3 thinner/cleaner bottles.

Finding the perfect plain V-neck shirt can be quite a pain. I should know because I’m no where near the average Pinay built (short torso, extra wide hips…ughhh…) reason why when I first tried on my white Sexy White Shirt last year, I’ve worn it to its last bits.

Sexy White Shirt x scarf from Twin at Patty’s vegan birthday party
April 2011

I hope that you tell from the photo above that my shirt perfectly fit me and my no-frills attitude. No unwanted stretching and bulging left and right too! :) I unfortunately lost that shirt in a recent out of town trip. I thought it’s due for replacement anyway so last payday, I didn’t get just one but three Sexy White Shirts in white, gray, and black. Such a steal for only Php 395 each! :)

Melissa of Sexy White Shirt threw in another white tee (regular size) for one of my tres chic readers! Checkout the contest mechanics after the cut and you might get lucky! :)
