Double Love: Lancome L’Absolu Rouge x Rouge In Love

Like most (I’m assuming if not all) beauty counters in Rustan’s EDSA Shangri-la, Lancome recently had their side of the floor renovated. I was privileged to join them at the reopening last June 16 over canapes and colourful macarons.

some of my favourite daily luxuries

Lancome is one of those brands dear to me and Mother Goose. The latter’s always had an impeccable, Parisian taste in cosmetics. Growing up, I saw Lancome lipsticks in her boudoir in hues of berry, berry, and more berry. While I was at the counter, I tried on some lipsticks from the permanent, highly raved range called L’Absolu Rouge. I was immediately drawn to these two colours. The one on the right looked much like one of my mom’s favourite berry hued lipsticks. There was no mental debate at all — it was so easy ask for a fresh stock of the lippie on the right because it’s beautifully pigmented, super comfortable, and stains nicely even when the gloss is gone. It’s Php 1395 a pop and I felt that it was absolutely worth spending on.

As soon as I got home, I showed my mom the lippie above. She’s surprised that I remembered the lipstick I’ve been babbling on. How can I forget it when it had an invisible “HANDS OFF PHOEBE!” sign? It apparently was a gift reason why it was so dear to her, I wasn’t allowed to play with it. :)

Apart from L’Absolu Rouge, I also swatched some lipsticks from the new line called Rouge In Love (Php 1295/tube).

Lancôme presents an instant must-have: a lipstick able to follow women through an entire day and night, wherever life might take them. An irresistible ‘prêt a porter’ lipstick: Rouge In Love. Embodied by Lancome’s latest ambassadress, Emma Watson, Rouge in Love offers a feather-light coverage making it a must-have for young and sophisticated ladies.

A wardrobe for the lips, Rouge In Love is available in 27 captivating shades. Each one has its own name, its own story… Inspired by three different moments during the day of a modern and stylish young woman the colour palette is divided into three colour universes.

On the get go, I love how the Rouge in Love lipsticks are illegally light and comfortable. It does feel feather-light, almost weightless. It’s glossy and never overly sparkly (zero specks of glitter on those swatches!) so it’s great for touch-up applications because unlike matte lipsticks, you don’t need to perfect the application all the time. What’s amazing about them? The pigment (the darker ones best this feat) lasts for up to 6 hours! Definitely worth paying your nearest counter a visit. :)

The Lancome Rouge in Love lipsticks  (we have 22 shades available in the Philippines) are now available at the Greenbelt 5 Boutique, Rustan’s Makati, Rustan’s Shangri-La, Rustan’s Alabang Town Center, and Essences Powerplant Mall.

  1. my mother also loves this brand! i love it too, though i can’t afford it, hihihi…. when i have tried this long time ago, i was amazed at how pigmented Lancome lippies are, no need for touchups talaga! :)

  2. I think I have the L’Absolu Rouge in 365 Rose Absolu. I like how it sometimes look pink then sometimes brown on me. :) I want to try one of the Rouge in Line lipsticks. I have to find the sexiest red and the prettiest pink among them.
