MAC S/S 2012 Beauty Trend: ATH-ELITE

ATH-ELITE is all about sporting a dewy, fresh-faced look that relies on flawless skin and amazing foundation. Think sweating ballerina dancers or humidity sans beads of sweat. There are touches of futurism left and right which makes this look easy to wear and recreate. I love the caramel and honey hues from Chloe and the three looks below made my heart skip a hard, long beat:

Nicole Thompson creating an Ath-Elite look

To recreate the strong winged liner from the Jonathan Saunders Spring 2012 show, Nicole Thompson prepped the model’s face  using MAC Fix+ and Strobe Liquid Lotion (use the water-based version on oily skin) to achieve the season’s signature 3D dewy look. The complexion’s perfected using the Select Moisturecover Concealer applied like warpaint then spread using the angled contour brush aka. 168. The face was gently yet beautifully contoured using the comfortable and grease-free Extra Dimension Powder (a hybrid of cream and powder that can be used everywhere) coming to the counters this April 2012. The graphic line’s created using MAC Fluidline in Blacktrack. To perfect, the wing’s created first with the model looking straight ahead. Once the wing’s set, short yet sharp and thick strokes are drawn on the lids. The hot spots of the face are touched up using Mineralized Skinfinish while the cheeks and lips got a pinch of colour from the Tinted Lip Conditioner in Petting Pink.
