Last night, I went out on a date with someone extra special.

Being a fellow fan, I promised to take Sophie out to Aria (the one in MNL that is) sometime last January and it was payback time. Not even a tad bit complaining cause really, it’s been forever since I had this lady all to myself. Here’s what we had (not in the photo set: my white wine and 2 orders of baked potato to go):

Cioppino, Php 390

Yes you read that right — 9 courses.

Last week, I had one dinner, one lunch, and one to-go all from Aria Cucina Italiana. Three meals in one week. I wish I can say it’s totally wrong and uncalled for but I think I’m already hooked with Aria. Here’s what I had last Thursday aka. meal #2. Do note that save for the coffee, everything’s in sample sizes since these snaps were taken during the 9-course food tasting.

I started my meal with a cup of java just because I had this meal wayyy past my bedtime.

Americano, Php 75

UNO
Gran Misto Aria, Php 435
a vegetarian mix of tomatoes and mozzarella cheese, grilled bell pepper salad, eggplant mash and deep fried zucchini, served with focaccia bread

DUE
Rotolino Marchigiano, Php 390
wood fire oven baked pizza roll stuffed with either tomato sauce, mushroom, eggplant, and mozzarella or mushroom, mozzarella, and ham

Affordable Luxury: Aria Cucina Italiana

I rarely say this but really — everything about last night’s dinner at Aria Cucina Italiana with good friends was perfect.

view from the door

view from my seat (we had a table for four)

The wine list was very comprehensive. I would’ve splurged on a carafe but I’m buying new heels later. Shoes always wins. :)

Save The Date: Aria Cucina Italiana

When one says ARIA, there’s only one place that comes to mind: Aria Boracay.

September 2011

ARIA Cucina Italiana is a modern Italian restaurant that has a menu inspired by the coastal regions of the Mediterranean. It elevated the standards of restaurant designs in Boracay with its stylishly modern, yet tropical, interiors and cozy ambiance. Here you can dine beneath the stars or enjoy your cocktails at the outdoor bar, feeling sand between your toes.

Aria’s charm, to me at least, never gets old. It’s still the same haven by the beach I got to first try with J 5 years ago (note to self: must go on a beach vacay with the girls soon!). I think I’ve dined at least once in Aria on every Boracay trip I’ve had since 2007.

J with our Caesar salad and Salsiccia pizza

My favourite wood fire oven-baked pizzas are still the same:

Salsiccia
Italian sausage, tomato sauce and mozzarella

Aria
tomato sauce, mozzarella and parma ham

I received a photo in the mail just minutes ago that quite literally (excuse me) made me drool:

Capricciosa
fresh cherry tomatoes, artichokes, farmers ham, mushroom, kalamata olives and mozzarella
