Not-so baby tabby cat Junkie Poo celebrated her 3rd birthday last Saturday. When she found out that my new Charm brushes are 100% vegan and animal hair-free, she immediately owned it.

“Thank you human for the birthday gift. Now go get another set for yourself.”

“I must hide this very well or else she’ll swipe it from me when I’m not looking!”

Just before you empty your payroll account, let me give you three reasons why you need to wait ’til the weekend (19 and 20 November, 10am-8pm) to visit Digital Traincase’s booth:

THE eye shadow connoisseur Brigitte (she’s SO particular about pigmentation, texture, and longevity) has finally let the cat out of the bag. She’s been road testing these two amazing eyeshadow palettes for months now and it’s your chance to finally get your hands on them!

Sweet and Smoky

Crazy Colour

These eye shadows are so silky plus they last f-o-r-e-v-e-r. As in zumba class and gym forever. To complement your new eye shadows, checkout Sophie’s new vegan (yes, you read that right — vegan!) Charm brushes. Not yet ready for a full on set commitment? They’re finally available in singles (Php 199-399)! :)

These finds will be launched and available this weekend at Digital Traincase’s booth. See you there! :)

Just for fun I thought, can I slim my current must-haves into a say list of 10? Let’s see… :)

Last month, the unthinkable just happened. I thought it was purely out of my training (running) that I’ve been feeling sharp pangs on my right ankle. H, being quite an expert when it comes to sports related injuries (as he’s accumulated a handful overtime), suggested that I get myself checked ASAP. At 28, I was diagnosed with mild arthritis on my right foot. Wait, let me say that again — mild arthritis (!!!). Turns out, because of being overweight once upon a time (170 lbs. max) and pushing myself to my limits every time I run, I’ve worn out my ankles and my right foot just got the first blow. I’ve had my first of many PT sessions (with the currents and all) and one of my prescriptions include taking a break from wearing my beloved Havaianas flip flops and Anthology flats. *dies*

I can’t wear flat shoes and slippers and stilettos. *dies again* In fact, even if I could, they really make my ankle hurt SO BAD. I naturally asked the doctor what I should wear since I can’t wear rubber shoes to work. He asked if I’ve heard of FitFlops. I said yes and he said I should give it a try because most patients with the same condition found relief in it (in between PT sessions and medication).

I’ve been long lemming for the FitFlop Electra Strata in Tiger Eye but 1) I find them hella expensive at Php 3490 and 2) they’re always (no exag) out of stock everywhere. I guess some things really have to wait for the perfect timing because apart from having a legit reason to grab a pair  (hrrhrr), the pair I’ve been lemming for was finally in stock, anddddd I got it as a gift (you read about this in Twitter right?). *cartwheels*

Did it live up to its promise of tension relief? Oh my goodness. I can’t believe I waited this long to get a pair! It’s true what they say — it’s so hard to go back to other shoes or sandals once you’ve tried these. I’m lemming for another pair (same style but in black for versatility) and this trio I spotted in TriNoma:

The gripe about these boots called Dash? They’re Php 6990 a pop! OUCH!

Beauty And The Beach: La Union

I slightly panicked in Twitter some 48 hours ago because I just realized that 1) I’ll be working the rest of the week and 2) I’ve yet to pack my bags for my upcoming beach trip this weekend. While I can live in just two tanks, a pair of shorts, bikinis and a coupl’a undies, I can’t quite afford to leave the same beauty junk I brought to La Union at home. Is there anything I’m missing? Or do you see anything I should ditch? HALPZ!

Can’t live without that ginger rub at the moment! :)

You can ransack my kikay kit on any day and you’ll unveil my most beat up makeup tool: my trusty Charm Luxe Retractable Kabuki. It’s beat up (thank heavens not to pieces) because I use it on a daily basis to apply my powder foundation before I step out and touch up using the same brush at least 4 times the entire day. I sanitize it before I call it a night (or should I say day since I work in the evening?) and deep cleanse it twice a week to prevent evil pimple causing bacteria from breeding into it.

I always thought that this is already my HG kabuki brush because it’s not only affordable and efficient but is also a clear looker. Imagine that thought dispelled in seconds as soon as I got a hold of Charm’s latest luxe offering: the Charm Gold Retractable Kabuki. I’m a big believer of show and tell so I’ll let this quad of snaps do the talking for me. :)

Charm Travel PRO V3

Over a scrumptious midweek dinner, I told my girl friends that I’m always on the fence every time Beauty and Minerals comes up with a new brush set. Two reasons: 1) Sophie is a very good friend hence folks might think that my reviews are swayed by this bit and 2) I’ve never encountered a single dud/lemon brush reason why historically speaking, I’ve never had anything not-so positive to say about her products. Disclaimer aside, I’d like to share with you my two cents on her latest makeup brush set aka. the Charm Travel PRO V3 (Php 2200).

Big fact: my fave colour combination of all time’s always been black, hot/neon pink, and gray. That said, can you tell that aesthetics wise, I’m already head over heels over this brush set?!?! Sophie’s amped it big time this round from the packaging and colour combo to the beautiful, sassy black faux croc pouch plus hot pink zippers. She says “classy and sassy”. I say gorgeous!
