I had a major Flashback Friday moment two weeks ago. Overflowing cream soda, red handset telephones, jukebox blaring and dancers in full swing. I was definitely bound to meet Archie, Betty and Veronica!

Rotating these MAC reds a lot lately. What other shades should I try? I’m NC40.

For someone wearing a lot less makeup all over (derma’s orders), this presents pros and cons. Top pro would be — I can sleep all day, wake up with only 10 minutes to prep for work, pick any colour and I’m good to go because I’m 100% definite they complement my skin tone. Biggest con — apparently, I don’t have anything that’s not red (!!!).

I’ve been long postponing my hunt for the perfect pink and perfect neutral when the need presented itself just last Tuesday. I was at the Powerplant Mall wearing my usual cat eyes and MAC Perpetual Flame + MAC Partyline when I realized that my face is too red from the peeling I’m going through. In my attempt to balance the look out, I removed the red lippies and swiped on some MAC Cremesheen Gloss in Imperial Light. It was too light so I made a 911 run to THE lipstick HQ. Bet you already know where I went!

• Based on my experience, the formula is a cross between the MAC Lip Conditioner and Cremesheen lipsticks. Lots of lasting moisture, zero tugging.
• If all of the lipsticks are as pigmented as Lady at Play, I must say that the colour’s as bad a** as the Matte lipsticks. Abundant and vibrant colour that lasts through dinner and drinks.
• I’m a sucker for packaging and this lipstick’s housed in a magnetic bullet similar to some of my Lancome lipsticks. The difference? The magnet is invisible making it more sleek and elegant looking (see below).

Just before MAC Philippines made this year’s holiday collection available, they threw a massive shindig at Whitespace, Makati. Our friends from MAC promised the party to be so huge they were beaming with excitement as early as the BCA 20 banquet. I got my invite the same day as the MAC Marilyn Monroe retail event and the moment I got my hands on ‘em, I caught the Glamour Daze bug.

I live close to the venue so you guessed it, I arrived early. A little too early to be able to take this snap. :)

fresh & busy MAC Rustans Makati

During the MAC Marilyn Monroe retail event + Rustans Makati relaunch (post-renovation), I had the opportunity to be touched up by MAC trainer and renowned make-up artist Owen Sarmiento. I arrived at the counter with a bold lip so we thought of amping it the Marilyn Monroe way — with a perfect cat eye.

Owen first neutralized my eyelids by applying Painterly Paint Pot then brushing on some Ricepaper eye shadow. Both products were applied using a fluffy, tapered brush.

Seconds after, Owen grabbed his Penultimate Eye Liner in Rapidblack to draw a slant line that looks like this:

Two days late for the party but  — trick or treat! :) Our company recently had a trick or treat feat for the kids and I can’t wait to show you what made my look an absolute win (IMO at least!).

I was tasked to be Maganda from the local folklore Malakas at Maganda. There’s absolutely no way I will dress up in just leaves (que horror!) at work reason why I put 100% effort to look the part instead.
