Not-so baby tabby cat Junkie Poo celebrated her 3rd birthday last Saturday. When she found out that my new Charm brushes are 100% vegan and animal hair-free, she immediately owned it.

“Thank you human for the birthday gift. Now go get another set for yourself.”

“I must hide this very well or else she’ll swipe it from me when I’m not looking!”

Lia asks:

Hello! I was the one who bumped into you last week at Greenbelt and asked if you’re Phoebe Ann. :) I failed to ask what makeup you wore because your face looked so translucent but you didn’t seem to have anything on yet looked so made up (wow!). That said, I hope you don’t mind sharing — what are your face base must-haves?

Hi Lia! Thanks for your question and the quick kudos! I usually step out of the house looking like that because 1) I’m out of time to prep up and 2) I use a maximum of 5 skin care + makeup products on my face because it certainly does my skin good. Here are the two products I can’t seem to get enough of that gives me that translucent, healthy looking mug:

I discovered this amazing powder from Palgantong some 3 years back as a GWP. Sure, there are finishing powders that are definitely finer than this but this melts and blends into my skin almost instantly. It matches most yellow tones but is also available in a lighter, slightly pink variant (the lavender’s amazing but is LE). IMHO, it’s at par with the shu uemura matte Face Powder without the heartbreaking price tag (Php 600, wehaveit43). shu uemura’s UV Under Base Mousse has been my HG primer for 3 or 4 years now. I’ve raved about this product too many times because it lets me skip foundation on good skin days plus nixes redness around my nose and mouth in seconds.

This is me wearing this duo last Saturday night at Hana, Little Tokyo (LOVE that place!). Photo was taken on very low light but with flash:

Apart from the two products above, I was just wearing a couple of shades from the NYX Nude on Nude palette. I was in a hurry to step out and forgot my blush and gloss. Yesterday’s mug (wearing the most adorable headband from Forever 21, Php 95) wearing my face base must-haves still:

I’m wearing MAC Lithe on my lids & MAC Style Snob over dark brown liner. Oh and yes — I had my hair coloured again (it now matches our La-Z-Boy):

How it looks like from the back:

I’m not supposed to but wth — please say hello to my two adorable nieces, E2 & E1:

E2 (my cousin’s first born) was christened yesterday and I’m her ninang. Look at those gigil-worthy arms and gams! E1 (another cousin’s first born, also my godchild) on the other hand’s big enough to ham up with Twin. They ransacked E2′s cake and look at them on sugar high:
