The Perfect Cat Eye by Owen Sarmiento

fresh & busy MAC Rustans Makati

During the MAC Marilyn Monroe retail event + Rustans Makati relaunch (post-renovation), I had the opportunity to be touched up by MAC trainer and renowned make-up artist Owen Sarmiento. I arrived at the counter with a bold lip so we thought of amping it the Marilyn Monroe way — with a perfect cat eye.

Owen first neutralized my eyelids by applying Painterly Paint Pot then brushing on some Ricepaper eye shadow. Both products were applied using a fluffy, tapered brush.

Seconds after, Owen grabbed his Penultimate Eye Liner in Rapidblack to draw a slant line that looks like this:

From the upper tip, draw a triangle going in just like this:

Pen a thin line going further in. Make it thicker if you want the line to be extra defined and dramatic. In less than 5 minutes (with chit chat in between), here’s my perfect cat eye by Owen Sarmiento:

While he’s at it, he also filled my brows with Lingering Eye Brows and defined my lips with Love Goddess (LE lipstick, Marilyn Monroe) and cheeks with Legendary (LE blush, Marilyn Monroe). Tying my hair back, here’s the perfect cat eye FOTD by Owen Sarmiento:

Since I was already out and on my way to date night, I popped by the salon and finally got rid of my extremely layered bob:

I’m wearing the Viva Glam Nicki lipstick in the photo above because I totally forgot to buy Love Goddess on my way out. I hope I can still ace a bullet when I go out this week. :)

Here are four more snaps from the Marilyn Monroe for MAC retail event where Owen did an awesome MM ‘do on two gorgeous models.
