Wiped Out and Loaded at La Union

It’s been more than a month since my surfing break and I’m obviously still hung over. *le sigh* Anyway, as promised, here are some snaps from my vacay, all shot using one of my sexy black pebbles, the Canon IXUS 220.

My travel buddy and I stayed at the Final Option Resort in Montemar Village, San Juan, La Union. It’s 10 minutes away (via a jeepney ride) from the busy and jampacked water stretch of Urbiztondo. There are different kinds of rooms available in the said resort but I opted for this  non-AC bahay kubo (nipa hut) cause I thought it was pretty slick for only a thousand pesos a night.

Here’s my awesome view from the balcony (yes, this is still part of the Final Option compound):

The Final Option resort is said to be owned by a German fellow and this is how I paid homage:

The lakwachera girl in me naturally wandered around San Fernando and just inside village (is that a lion or a dog?):

…and made a new friend (please don’t tell Junkie Poo).

While I absolutely adored the neatly tucked room we got, we just had to go to the Billabong Surf School just because the best waves are really in Urbiztondo.

This is how I got so tan: the waves were too flat (these folks’re also waiting for the swell) and the sand’s reflection fried my skin (good thing I came insanely prepared with tons of SPF).

You know what they say: fries go to your thighs (I had 4 of these, 1 per day)!

When the water finally swelled, we were all giddy and hopped our boards like crazy!

Yes, even him!

*le sigh* wait for my next La Union vacay! :)
